String Quartet at The Estate at New Albany

Five acres of wooded property, a Great Hall that comfortably holds 350, and a twenty-eight-foot fireplace in the Grand Foyer. The Estate was built from the ground up to host weddings, which means unlike most historic spaces the infrastructure actually cooperates with the event, power, HVAC, load-in routes, and sight lines are where an event planner would have put them.

An all-inclusive estate, twenty minutes out of Columbus

The Estate at New Albany occupies five wooded acres roughly twenty minutes northeast of downtown Columbus. The Great Hall (fits 350 seated) is the headline reception room. The Main Patio outdoors accommodates up to 350 for ceremonies or receptions and carries string lights and trees for evening events. The Forest and Noble Room is the indoor ceremony option with a 75-foot aisle and a lot of natural light, holding up to 210. A Grand Foyer with the 28-foot fireplace handles cocktail hour; two private suites support the getting-ready portion of the day.

The venue operates all-inclusive, food, cake, design, and floral are handled in-house. That matters for a quartet because the timeline is already coordinated. Setup and sound checks slot into a known schedule rather than getting negotiated the week of.

Project String Quartet is led by founder Rebecca Hamilton, a conservatory-trained violinist who has performed at 200+ Midwest weddings. Every player on the roster holds conservatory or professional orchestral credentials. The repertoire runs from Bach and Vivaldi through Bridgerton-style pop arrangements, so the music can match the room whether you want something traditional or something unexpected. PSQ holds a 5.0 rating on Google across hundreds of reviews. Not sure what to put on the playlist? The Playlist Builder lets you sort through the full library before you book.

Three things that make this easy

Great Hall under the trusses

Timber trusses overhead soften the reverb that a plaster-ceilinged hall of the same size would have. Tempos can sit a hair quicker here; the room does not ask us to pull back on anything. We set up on the side aisle under the truss line, which gives the cello vertical reflection and keeps sightlines clean for photography.

Two ceremony options, weather-dependent

The Main Patio and the Forest and Noble Room cover outdoor and indoor respectively. The Estate's in-house coordinators make the weather call on a fixed clock, usually three to four hours before ceremony. We stage setup for both and move in under five minutes if the call flips late.

Foyer cocktail hour with the fireplace

The 28-foot fireplace in the Grand Foyer turns cocktail hour into its own room. We relocate from the ceremony space during the flip, play a lighter selection near the fire while the Great Hall resets for dinner, then join the reception timeline for prelude and first dance. See our complete guide to wedding ceremony music for help planning the full arc of the day.

Quartet is the scale

Not sure which size fits your event? Our guide on how to choose a wedding string quartet walks through the tradeoffs.

String Duo

Violin + Cello

Appropriate for suite music during getting-ready or a very small Forest and Noble ceremony under sixty guests. The Great Hall is built for more.

String Trio

Violin, Violin + Cello

A workable middle choice for Forest and Noble Room ceremonies under 175 guests, or for Main Patio outdoor ceremonies at the smaller end.
